Tilehurst Show Saturday 23rd June 2007

There were three main themes to the stand we had at the Show

• We had a Rubbish Quiz - testing people's knowledge of recycling - We had prizes of a giant compost bin donated by Reading Borough Council, a compost bin and hessian bag given by West Berks Council, and a hessian bag given by Wickcroft Farm Shop at Englefield on the Pangbourne Road. We had leaflets, information about how the recycled products are reused etc. and also posted lists of useful information about how to be Greener and save money and resources.
  Reading Borough Council were also looking for someone to trial their green cone. People who did the quiz were asked if they would like to participate in the trial and if so the selected winner will keep the cone after the trial.
  
  We ran this quiz last year. There was even more interest in it this year. However, the results show that there is still a considerable way to go before the recycling message is understood by local people.
