To promote Tilehurst Globe we :
·
Have posters in
shop windows and the library about our monthly meetings
·
Send updates by
email to anyone who asks, and have a lively website
·
Mail a calendar
with information about our activities and contact details
·
Have a stall at
two shows in Victoria Recreation Ground in Tilehurst
Volunteers Time
To undertake these
activities volunteers share tasks and extend their skills. We work together
trying to do what we can manage. Help and support is available when
circumstances change – we all have other responsibilities. Globe takes its turn
with other parts of our lives. Many hands make light work; we find the
activities fun and rewarding.
Outline Plans for 2009-2010
Here is a skeleton programme. We
will add further events as ideas firm
up. Suggestions welcome for this programme
and our regular meetings on the third
Wednesday in the month (second in December).

Money and plans for 2009-2010 and
beyond- for discussion at AGM
Tilehurst Globe is
supported by a RBC council grant, donations from local businesses, and specific
grants for identified projects. Until March 2010 our insurance has been arranged through RBC. A summary of our
audited accounts and outline plans are
given below.
We plan to spend more
than our income in the period April 2009- March 2010 .We will spend
funds we have allocated previously including the Dorothy Morely award (DMA).
The £500 projects in this period covers bulbs
and excess tree planting costs. We hope additional DMA leaflets since it
is more economical. Unfortunately must meet the new insurance costs so we are
covered from 1 April. We may need to look for savings.
The outline plans for the
period April 2010- March 2011 show the
proposed request for funds to RBC to meet future plans for bulb planting and new projects. The grant news is expected
early in 2010.
